Radamel Falcao, Victor Valdes and James Wilson all started for a strong Under-21 XI as Manchester United drew 1-1 with Ugo Ehiogu's Spurs at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.
Falcao, on his day one of the world's top goalscorers, has been left frustrated as an unused substitute in recent weeks.
His appearance for the second-string raised a few eyebrows - and the Colombian played 72 minutes as United shared the spoils in this Under-21 Premier League clash.
Rafael, another first-team regular, was on the scoresheet for the Red Devils, cancelling out Kenny McEvoy's opener for Spurs. The Brazilian full-back bagged a classy goal, with a long-range chip beating 'keeper Luke McGee from distance.
Warren Joyce's men remain top of the table following this hard-fought point, but they could have snatched a win at the death as James Grimshaw headed narrowly wide.
