Herrera goal not enough

Swansea City bagged a league double over Manchester United for the first time on Saturday, with the Red Devils crashing to a troubling 2-1 defeat.

Having scored at Preston, Ander Herrera delivered another message to Louis van Gaal with the opening goal on 28 minutes.
 
The Jacks, however, fought back almost immediately as Ki Sung-yueng turned home a cross from Jonjo Shelvey.
 
United controlled proceedings after half-time, but couldn't find the back of the net, and the travelling Red Army couldn't believe their eyes when Bafetimbi Gomis scored a deflected goal, very much against the run of play.
 
Misery was compounded for United late on. We're now sweating on the fitness of Dutch frontman Robin van Persie, who has an ankle problem which left him on crutches. 
 
Following an entertaining weekend of Premier League action, only three points separate third-placed Arsenal with seventh-placed Spurs, as the battle for a top four finish - surely the minimum we should expect from big-spending van Gaal - hots up.
