Surprise package Southampton claimed a huge win at Old Trafford, as Manchester United's eleven match unbeaten run came to an abrupt end. 

The Saints secured a first win at United in almost 27 years with an accomplished away performance, denying the Red Devils a single shot on target in the process.

Louis van Gaal will be furious by his side's wastefulness in possession, as Southampton's resurgent form continues.

Despite Angel di Maria's return, United struggled to carve our opportunities against the resolute Saints, 
 
The only goal of the game arrived on 69 minutes. Dusan Tadic showed great composure to finish from twelve yards, after Graziano Pelle's came off the woodwork and into his path.

United enjoyed their best spell of the game after Southampton's goal, but still struggled to threaten with Juan Mata squandering two decent opportunities.
