In an official interview with the Red Devils, Marcos Rojo has described Manchester United as the "biggest club in the world" after completing his move from Sporting Lisbon.

The Argentinean international's transfer, for a fee thought to be worth approximately £16millon, has been finalised after the player came through a medical on Wednesday.

After completing the move, Rojo told the club in an official interview: "It's such an honour to say I now play for Manchester United.

"To play in the Premier League for the biggest club in the world is a dream for me".

Louis van Gaal will be hoping this exciting arrival can help fix United's troubling defensive frailties, which were all too evident during Sunday's home defeat at the hands of Swansea City.

Rojo may be involved on the weekend as United travel to Sunderland, hoping to lease life into the new campaign following their opening day reverse.
