Warren Joyce's Manchester United second-string continued their pre-season preparations on Tuesday evening, claiming a 2-1 win at Barnsley.

Josh Harrop bagged two first-half goals at Oakwell in front of 3,385 spectators.

The deadlock was broken on 11 minutes as Harrop seized on a sloppy, loose Conor Hourihane pass and fired home a fine finish.

A neat combination involving Tom Lawrence and Harrop ensured United's lead doubled, with another fine finish putting the visitors firmly in control.

United, who made four changes during the game, were moments away from sealing a clean sheet, but Barnsley secured late consolation through Jean-Yves M'Voto.
