Young: Nobody at United felt title dream was over

As Manchester United continue to recover from a poor start to the Premier League campaign, winger Ashley Young says nobody at the club ever felt the Red Devils were out of the Premier League title race. 

Young was in action on Saturday as Manchester United made it six wins on the bounce in all competitions with a 1-0 festive victory at Norwich City.

Danny Welbeck’s strike was the difference at Carrow Road as David Moyes’ men climbed to sixth in the Premier League table, seven points behind leaders Man City.

The win followed league successes over Aston Villa, West Ham and Hull as United continue to recover from their worst top-flight record after 15 games since 2001.

Former Aston Villa man Young said: "If you were to ask anybody around the club, no-one would have ever said we were out of the title race.

"We have to just keep winning games. Our momentum is building now and we have to keep playing as we have done to take those chances which will see us back up the table."

United return to action on New Year’s Day as Tim Sherwood’s Spurs visit the Theatre of Dreams.

If Young and the players are fooling themselves, the fans know better.

After the last two games at Old Trafford the tough questions are being asked again.

Personally I'd take the Carling Cup and a top four finish.
