Patrice Evra played over an hour as France hammered Australia 6-0, with a managerial casualty the consequence of the one-sided international friendly in Paris. 

Holger Osieck was sacked after the game as his Socceroos side were comprehensively outplayed by a rampant French team.

Olivier Giroud bagged a brace for the hosts, with Franck Riberty, Yohan Cabaye, Mathieu Debuchy and Karim Benzema also on target in the French capital.

This emphatic win will leave Didier Deschamps’ men in good spirits ahead of their final World Cup qualifier against Finland on Tuesday, though Les Bleus face a play-off to qualify for Brazil bar an unlikely set of results which would have to include a Georgia win in Spain.
