Rafael denies Corinthians link

Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva has quashed speculation linking him with a move to Brazilian outfit Corinthians, insisting he is not thinking of leaving Old Trafford. 

Rumours suggested that the São Paulo-based club could be set to make an offer for United's 23-year-old right-back.

There were suggestions that the player felt a return to Brazil would offer more regular first-team opportunities and increase chances of a call-up to the national team.

However, speaking to Lancenet, Rafael denied he was looking for a move, saying: "I am not thinking about leaving Manchester United, especially since I did well last season.

"There is no reason to leave now, I am playing here, I am a starter and I don't intend to return to Brazil."

Rafael has made four United appearances this season, and made his first league start of the campaign on Saturday as the Red Devils came from behind to win 2-1 at Sunderland. A hamstring problem had limited his first-team challenge this season.
