Hernandez makes it 3-2

Manchester United staged another famous comeback at Villa Park in Saturday's tea time clash. Trailing 2-0 with 50 minutes gone, Sir Alex Ferguson's men stormed back to claim a superb victory thanks to a brace from the inspirational Javier Hernandez and a Ron Vlaar own-goal. 

Hernandez followed on from his late goal in Braga to produce a stunning second-half display in the Midlands and score two goals to inspire United to another famous comeback.

The Red Devils looked to be heading to their third league defeat of the season after troubled Villa led by two goals thanks to strikes either side of half-time from Andreas Weimann.

However, the half-time introduction of Hernandez proved pivotol as United stormed back to claim a ninth league win of the campaign and strengthen their grip on Premier League pole position.

United got themselves back into the game as Hernandez picked up Paul Scholes' pass and fjred a tricky finish into the back of Brad Guzan's net.

Parity was restored as Vlaar - largely impressive - got in the way of Rafael's volley. United sensed victory - and soon afterwards, Rooney and van Persie went close. 

With the clock ticking towards a draw, United snatched the points late on as Hernandez met van Persie's free-kick with a fine header to the delight of the travelling Red Army. 

United, who have now come from behind to win games on eight occasions this season, have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the table and will return to the North West full of confidence after this fine victory.
