Welbeck to Real?

Speculation suggests that Real Madrid are eager to bring Danny Welbeck to Spain. Reports indicate that the England international, capped three times by his country, is demanding a bigger wage packet at Old Trafford, and the contract disagreements have alerted the attention of the La Liga giants.

Jose Mourinho is eager to bolster Real Madrid’s striking options, and apparently believes Welbeck could compliment Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema.

The former Chelsea boss could take advantage of supposed contract squabbling between the striker and Manchester United.

Welbeck is currently paid around £15,000 per week, according to the Sunday People, but allegedly feels he deserves a wage nearer £60,000

Reports suggest that Madrid have sent a number of scouts to Old Trafford in recent weeks to monitor Welbeck’s performances.

Manchester-born Welbeck, who made his United debut in 2008, has made 45 appearances for the club and scored 13 goals.

Los Blancos paid United £80,000,000 in June 2009 for Cristiano Ronaldo, which remains the most expensive transfer fee paid in history.
