David De Gea signs from Athletico Madrid, Ashley Young joins from Aston Villa. Beb goes to Besiktas for a year and Ritchie De Leat joins premiershipo new boys Norwich for a similar twelve month term. Meanwhile Manchester MP's tabled a motion to get Sir Alex into the House of Lords...

Two Labour MPs from Manchester - Graham Stringer and Tony Lloyd - have tabled a Commons motion calling for the 69-year-old Scot to be awarded a peerage.

"That this House recognises the economic, social, cultural and sporting importance of football to the United Kingdom; is therefore surprised at the paucity of representatives from the world of football in the Upper House; further notes that Sir Alex Ferguson, as the manager of Aberdeen and Manchester United, is the most successful manager in the history of British football; and calls for him to be recommended for appointment to the House of Lords." 

Marvellous stuff. 

He'd be Lord of the Kings !!

Whoa!!!

Where the hell did that come from? I haven't been following any football news since the end of the season and a simple Internet search reveals that De Gea and Young are both our players now. This is so freakin' good news.

Yes it is good news and canny work by SAF to buy Brit players. Having said that we now have so many central defenders, goalies and wingers its not funny and, while depth is great, unless players are offloaded many will only play bit parts of they are lucky.

I started thinking bout this when Smalling was bought. Oh well at least it maintains competitions for places.
