Pogba to sign

Manchester United have won clearance to sign Paul Pogba. Fifa have sanctioned the move, despite protests from his current club Le Havre who claimed that the player had been often financial inducements to break from his contract.

Le Havre president Jean-Pierre Louvel accused United of paying Pogba to break his contract, in a case that parallels to the controversy that has seen Chelsea banned from signing new players for two transfer windows.

"Manchester United is pleased to confirm that the Football Association has been authorised by Fifa to register Paul Pogba as a Manchester United player with immediate effect," read a United statement.

A judge appointed by Fifa has ruled that the player did not have a contract as he was still an amateur. He had received nothing but expenses to play for the club.

United have thus won the case and Pogba is free to join the Red Devils. The 16-year-old is expected to arrive at the club shortly and will be hoping to make a major impact on the club's youth ranks.
