Here’s a round-up of some of the smaller news items involving the club at the moment. This brief selection of stories includes League Cup ticket news, an update on Fergie’s blast at Alan Wiley and Patrice Evra’s thoughts on the team’s biggest game of the season.

United's odds drift in title race
Following United's 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Saturday evening, United's odds have drifted in the Premier League title race. Punters can get a price as high as 23/10 on the Red Devils claiming the title again, with Chelsea now marked up as clear favourites for the crown.

F.A demand Fergie's ref remarks explanation
The Football Association have demanded an explanation from Sir Alex Ferguson after the Reds boss slammed the fitness of referee Alan Wiley this weekend. Following the 2-2 draw with Sunderland, Fergie upset Wiley by telling the press he was "not fit enough for a game of that standard".

Reds take up full League Cup allocation
United have unsurprisingly taken up their full allocation of tickets for the forthcoming League Cup clash at Barnsley. This means travelling supporters will occupy the entirety of Oakwell's North Stand for the fourth round clash.

Ex-Reds man named as Notts County chief executive
Gary Townsend has joined Notts County as chief executive. The 36-year-old spent seven years at Old Trafford in a number of roles but joins the League Two club from Everton's human resources programme.

O'Shea desperate for World Cup appearance
John O'Shea has revealed his desperation to go to next summer's World Cup finals with the Republic of Ireland. The United defender was not selected for the Irish squad back in 2002, and is thus anxious to help his country qualify for South Africa. "It would be up there with anything that I've done" he said.

Evra feels Chelsea away is the biggest
Patrice Evra views United's league clash at Stamford Bridge as the biggest of the season. Whilst most fans earmark derbies with Liverpool or City as the most important fixture, United's French full-back believes that the Chelsea game is the one he "wants to win more than any other".

Robbo set to start Thailand job
Former Manchester United star Bryan Robson will start work as manager of Thailand next week. The 52-year-old, former manager of Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion has penned a four-year deal and replaces Peter Reid in the hotseat.

Park football centre set for May 2010 opening
A football centre named after Ji-Sung Park is set to open in Seoul, South Korea. The centre will open in May 2010 and will run educational programs for young Korean footballers.
