Manchester United made it a four wins from four on their Asia Tour with a phenomenal 8-2 victory over Hangzhou Greentown. Michael Owen bagged a brace and Welsh wing Ryan Giggs scored a superb hat-trick as the Red Devils produced a brilliant attacking display to blitz the Chinese Super League club.
United were a class above Greentown and swept to victory with an excellent attacking display.
Owen got the scoring underway on 23 minutes with a typical poacher's effort. He shook off his marker as he prodded home Nani's cross from only six yards out.
Nani was again the provider for United's second goal - sending a floating cross over Greentown ‘keeper Jiang Bo and onto the boot of Dimitar Berbatov who fired home a brilliant volley.
Zoran Tošiæ fine finish capped an excellent attacking move for United's third before a sublime piece of skill set up Owen's brace. The Bulgarian picked up Fletcher's pass and, with his back to goal, clipped the ball up and flicked it over his shoulder before Owen chested down and fired beyond the Greentown 'keeper.
Nani was brimming with confidence and latched onto another excellent piece of skill from Berbatov for United's fifth and, having introduced Wayne Rooney and Ben Foster at the break, Sir Alex Ferguson started to make a host of substitutions.
Substitute Giggs snatched the limelight with a hat-trick of goals in the closing stages as the strikes kept coming. The Welshman converted a Ji-Sung Park pass shortly after the hour-mark , before rolling back the years with a surge of pace and a fine chip to make it seven.
Wang Hong Yu was next on the scoresheet at the Yellow Dragon Stadium as he netted consolation for the Chinese club before Giggs completed his quick-fire hat-trick after fooling the 'keeper with a dummy.
Greentown's Otto bagged the tenth and final goal of the game but it was mere consolation for the Super League outfit but the damage was already done with the Red Devils delighting the crowd with an excellent skilful and attacking display.
