Fergie linked with swoop for Villa's Ashley Young

Coming to United?

Sir Alex Ferguson is rumoured to be lining up an ambitious swoop for Aston Villa winger Ashley Young. Martin O’Neill will be desperate to cling onto the English international but reports suggest that the Red Devils may try and tempt the Midlands outfit with a big-money offer. Ferguson, of course, has money to spend on the transfer market after Cristiano Ronaldo completed a £80million move to Real Madrid earlier in the week.

The United boss has already signed Antonio Valencia, Michael Owen and Gabriel Obertan - with reports now suggesting that Sir Alex could launch a big-money swoop for Villa's highly-rated Young Player of the Year Young.

Fergie is thought to be a long-term admirer of the 23-year-old and with Ryan Giggs creeping towards retirement and Nani still struggling to regularly impress, the reports of United's interest in another winger carry some validity.

United would have to splash out in excess of £20million to tempt Villa to part company with the former Watford man. Since moving to the Midlands, the four-times capped England man has made 100 appearances for the Villains and boasts 22 club goals to his name.

For £20m it aint gonna happen, To important to villa who would want more money for him than he is worth and SAF would pay. MON stated last season that he would want £72m, tongue in cheak but shows how much he rates him + He has only just signed a new cotract. Good luck for next season UTV

Obviously a good player with a lot of potential but I don't think he's United quality. Being young and English we'd have to pay far over the odds for him as well.
