Scholes optimistic

Paul Scholes is in a confident mood ahead of Sunday’s F.A Cup semi-final clash with Everton. The midfielder has tremendous experience of big-game situations and is hopeful that United earn another trip to Wembley in May with victory over the Toffees. Since Scholes made his debut in September 1994, United have won the Cup on three occasions in '96, '99 and 2004.

The 34-year-old is part of a 24-man squad who will travel to Wembley for Sunday's game. The ex-England star is sure to make the match-day eighteen - but Fergie is yet to give any clear indication of his starting XI.

Scholes is confident that United can knock-out Everton and book their place in May's F.A Cup final.

"We don't like to lose semi-finals and we've a chance of getting to Wembley again, and it would be a major thrill to be there at the end of the season.

"We just hope we have that feeling. OK, it'll be a tough game against Everton - they're a good team with good players - but we're hopeful we can win it.

"We hope we can play well on Sunday, win the game and then that can go on the backburner until the end of the season, as something to look forward to."
