Ancelotti-led Chelsea set for summer Tevez swoop?

Chelsea-bound?

The Daily Telegraph is linking Carlos Tevez with a surprise move to Chelsea. The broadsheet claims that the West London club have lined up a deal to bring AC Milan boss Carlos Ancelotti to Stamford Bridge. The 49-year-old Italian is a keen admirer of Tevez and the report suggests that an Ancelotti-led Chelsea would make the Argentinean frontman one of their leading transfer targets for the summer.

Guus Hiddink is currently in charge at Chelski and, to the Russian's credit, has kept the Blues very much in contention for honours this season.

Few seem to be mentioning the fact that Chelsea could yet emulate United's historic Treble of 1999 when the Red Devils bagged the European Cup, league championship and F.A Cup. It doesn't bare thinking about it!

However, Hiddink is only interim manager at Stamford Bridge and has continually reiterated is intention to leave London over the summer and retain his position as Head Coach of the Russian national team.

Speculation is rife regarding who will fill-in with the hot-seat on a full-time basis and the Telegraph claims that Ancelotti, the current AC Milan boss, has agreed to leave the San Siro and join Chelsea over the summer.

It is alleged that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will offer the 49-year-old a whopping £50million to splash on top transfer targets - and Tevez is thought to be near the top of Ancelotti's wish-list.

Tevez is currently coming towards the end of a two-year loan deal with United. 'Media Sports Investments' own the rights to the player and United are stalling on splashing out a fee in the region of £25million to sign the player on a permanent basis. Reports claim that the Reds have already paid MSI £8million for Tevez in loan fees on top of the player's £75,000-per-week wage package.

The South American striker faces a battle for regular first-team football at Old Trafford and may be keen to move to Chelsea; particularly with United stalling over a permanent move. It's all conjecture at this point - but expect the Tevez saga to run and run into the summer months.
