Manchester United were ninety minutes from a 2007 Champions League final against arch-rivals Liverpool before being dumped out of the competition at the San Siro. The 3-0 loss away to AC Milan, United's fourth of their European campaign, stopped the Red Devils reaching the final in Athens. Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha each bagged four goals in continental competition for United.
