Gibson eager for more chances to impress

Darron Gibson is anxious to get more chances to impress in the red jersey and predicts that further success in the F.A Cup and League Cup will provide him with those opportunities. The 21-year-old made his eighth United appearance on Saturday and netted his first club goal as the Red Devils strolled to a 3-0 win over Southampton.

The ambitious Ulsterman is determined to establish himself at United.

He put in a determined performance at Southampton on the weekend and is keen to get plenty more appearances under his belt this season.

"I'm getting a lot more chances this season and the longer we stay in the FA Cup - and if we can reach the Carling Cup Final then the more chances of first team action I'm going to get." said Gibson

"As the season goes on I might even get more opportunities in the Premiership which is what I'm aiming towards."

Gibson revealed that he'll "definitely be involved" in the League Cup semi-final, first-leg at Derby on Wednesday and will again be hoping to impress in front of the television cameras.
