Edwin van der Sar has made a shock U-turn and come out of international retirement. Capped 128 times by the Netherlands, Van Der Sar hung up his dutch gloves following Euro 2008. However, an injury-crisis in the Dutch squad has compelled VDS to make himself available for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Iceland and Norway.
The 37-year-old has temporarily suspended his international retirement to help his country's bid for World Cup qualification.
Maarten Stekelenburg is unavailable for the Dutch with a shoulder injury, whilst Henk Timmer is struggling with a groin problem. That left Bert van Marwijk's side short of goalkeeping talent so VDS has declared himself available for their next two fixtures.
