Manchester United have been given a huge boost ahead of Tuesday evening’s Champions League tie in Roma. Edwin van der Sar, Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs have all been declared fit to play after coming through two training sessions unscathed. All three players look certain to be involved at some stage as the Reds look for a positive result at the Stadio Olimpico.

Van der Sar missed the weekend's win over Aston Villa with a groin injury, whilst Evra and Giggs both failed to complete the full ninety minutes.

All three players, however, have looked fully fit in training this week and have been declared available for Tuesday's massive game in Italy.

Meanwhile, Michael Carrick is still a doubt for United with a hamstring problem, whilst Nani and Louis Saha are both ruled out.

As we've reported, Roma will be without skipper Francesco Totti. The midfield playmaker is the club's top scorer this season - with 14 goals - and his absence is a huge boost for the Red Devils.
