United's lead back down to five points

Chelsea extended their unbeaten Premier League run to fifteen matches as they secured a fortunate 1-0 win over a plucky Middlesbrough side. The win takes Chelski back to second place in the table and reduces United's lead at the top to five points. Avram Grant's men face Manchester City, Wigan and Everton before playing hosts to the Reds in four weeks time.

It's as you were at the top of the league following Chelsea's hard-fought 1-0 win against Middlesbrough.

Ricardo Carvalho headed home a rare strike to separate the two sides at Stamford Bridge. Grant's men go back up to second in the table and sit five points behind high-flying United.

Chelsea, however, can count themselves lucky to have taken all three points with Gareth Southgate's 'Boro hitting the woodwork on three separate occasions.

The Londoners now travel to Fenerbahce in the Champions League before a tricky away trip to Citeh next Saturday. Can the bitter Blues do us a huge favour?
