Manchester United are set to ring the changes for Wednesday night's League Cup tie against Coventry City. The automatic cup scheme means there will be a full house at Old Trafford, but fans will be watching some slightly unfamiliar names with the likes of Gerard Pique, Phillip Bardsley and Lee Martin all likely to feature. The Sky Blues, backed by 11,000 travelling fans, will also make changes. Sir Alex Ferguson is set to gamble on Wednesday night’s League Cup tie with Coventry as he packs his squad full of youth talent.  The United boss is set to include the likes of Johnny Evans, Phillip Bardsley, Gerard Pique, Lee Martin and Chris Eagles as they kick-off their campaign with a weakened starting XI. However, there will be some household names on show with Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha both expected to start up front. The duo are both short of match fitness and will be relishing the chance of taking on Iain Dowie’s side. Tomasz Kuszczak will replace Edwin Van Der Sar in goal for United, whilst Nani and Anderson both have a point to prove in midfield. Owen Hargreaves could also be in contention for a surprise starting berth as he battles back from a thigh problem, whilst starlet forward Frazier Campbell is another youngster who is hoping to be involved. The Sky Blues are set to name Andy Marshall in goal ahead of first-choice stopper Dimi Konstantopoulos, as is their policy in cup matches. Meanwhile, the Midlands outfit may also shuffle their backline after a humiliating 4-1 defeat at Ipswich on the weekend. United are expecting a sell out for this fixture with the con that is the automatic cup scheme forcing fans into buying tickets. Coventry will be buoyed by the news that the Reds are making changes but home advantage, in front of a record Carling Cup crowd, should give Ferguson’s men an advantage.
