Ryan Giggs scored a goal from a quickly taken free kick which annoyed the home side who had already had a goal disallowed earlier in the second half. The first half was notable only for some apparently over zealous policing and poor organisation in the away section. Lille 0-1 Manchester United The Red Devils have taken one step into the quarter-finals of the European Cup but most of the headlines will surround more unsavoury matters. Ryan Giggs was the goalscorer with a controversial free-kick only minutes from time.
