20-year-old forward Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has left Old Trafford to join Championship outfit Plymouth Argyle. The player moves to Home Park in a deal worth an initial £200,000.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has left Manchester United to join Plymouth Argyle for an initial fee of £200,000.

The striker, 20, is regarded as an excellent prospect for the future but has failed to break into the first-team at Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson feels it is beneficial for both parties if the player moves onto play Championship football with the Pilgrims.

Ebanks-Blake did well to battle back from a broken leg he picked up in February 2005, but he notched up only one senior-team appearance last season as he found the net in United's 4-1 League Cup victory over Barnet.

"I'm very, very pleased. He's someone I have been monitoring for some time. I almost had him on loan last year." confirmed Plymouth boss Ian Holloway.

"He's got power; he's got pace; he's hungry to make a reputation. He will be a threat to opponents when we have got the ball and when we haven't - so, defenders, 'Watch out!'

The deal is potentially worth more than £200,000 to the Red Devils dependent on the player's form with the Devon outfit.
