Vauxhall Curse??

Ask yourself why have Tranmere Rovers got off to such a bad start after such an impressive campaign last season?

Is it because Ray Mathias has forgot how to manage?

Or maybe Rovers were just lucky last term?

Or was it because they played local giant-killers Vauxhall Motors in a pre-season friendly?

I know it sounds stupid, but why not? Vauxhall matched a full strength Second Division outfit when the two sides met at Rivacre Park in July. Since then Tranmere have only won only two league games in 11 and are currently languishing in 19th position. Their win against Wycombe Wanderers was their first since their opening day winner against Brentford 4-1.

And before Tranmere who was the last Second Division team to play Vauxhall? QPR in last seasons FA Cup 1st round proper, The Motormen out played Rangers in every way on their march to the second round. before they were high flying and certain for playoffs, after the FA Cup defeat QPR went on a run of 10 without a win, and manager Ian Holloway's job was in doubt. They finally got their season back on track and managed to get to the play-off final narrowingly missing out to an extra-time goal and Cardiff went up instead.

We have worked out that the curse should last 10 games, and as soon as Tranmere had finished their 10 they won.

Are Vauxhall really to blame for the BOTH clubs slump after they both played The Motormen? Or is it just a coincidence you decide...

www.vauxhallmotors.tk are proud to announce we have hit a record high since founding the site five months ago. Albeit we do wish was under different circumstances. Alvin McDonald's shock resignation has no doubt been monitored by Northwich and Southport fans. Almost 25,000 hits since the site started in April of this year, and almost 5,000 hits last month alone.

Thanks to everyone who has logged on over the last five months and hope you continue to.
