Phil Brazier left Rivacre Park for Northwich Victoria when the season ended in May. The ex-Liverpool youth captain had, had a great season with The Motormen. I have listed the top 5 candidates and scored them as a captain to take Vauxhall into the Nationwide Conference.

Mike Tomlinson - A semi-professional England International, played against Belgium in February. Signed from Runcorn FC Halton for £6,000, brought in to replace Matt Haddrell who moved to Macclesfield in March. Highly rated for his professionalism since he came to Rivacre Park by Alvin McDonald, known as "The Terminator" by his team-mates, experienced enough to captain the squad and push for promotion.

Craig Robinson - A young defender with a very promising future (hopefully which will be at this club), has previously played for Blackppol, aswell as having Conference experience with Morecambe. A motivating player always helps to get the best out of his team-mates, could prove an inspirational captain for the future.

Kevin Lynch - My money is on Lynch to get the armband, he filled in for Phil towards the end of last season, Kevin has never heard of a lost cause and will always keep fighting until the end, a strong defensive midfielder who in many ways plays like Roy Keane. Could prove to be a key part in The Motormens promotion push next season.

Carl Nesbitt - An experienced Vauxhall player, remains the only person to play and work for Vauxhall Motors. Captained the club before Phil Brazier came to Rivacre Park, came through the ranks at Liverpool in the same team as Real Madrid star and Kop Legend Steve McManaman. A good midfield player who will prove a good asset next season, but I doubt it will be as captain.

Nicky Young - Exprienced striker who has played for Everton and Bury. Probably the least likely to get captaincy out the 5, although his experience helps him. Has lost out on the scoring charts since Terry Fearns came in from St. Helens 2 years ago.

Kevin Lynch is the one I think, with Craig Robinson for he future. Who would you put as captain? vote on our poll on the bottom right of any page.
