The SPL threat to resign in 2 and leave the league in 2 seasons time is still standing and could happen within a few days. The clubs have to give there notice within the next few days before the new season starts so that they can resign in 2 seasons time. New Page 2

The 10 non-old firm clubs have announced they still intend to resign from the SPL after failing to reach an agreement over the changes in the SPL voting structure.

The non old firm clubs want the voting strategies changed to 8/4 so only 8 votes are needed for something to happen.  Unlike the current 11/1 strategy which often makes everything in favor of the old firm.

This threat first came in April when the clubs failed to agree over a TV Deal though a TV Deal got made today it is still likely the clubs will carry out this threat and resign in 2 seasons time.

It has been said that the Motherwell Administrator Bryan Jackson has admitted to them resigning within the next 24 hours.

After the meeting today the Old Firm Clubs thought it would be unacceptable to change the voting strategy and want it to remain 11/1.

The clubs have to resign by midnight this Friday before the new season can kick off on Saturday so that they can fulfill there 2 year resignation notice.

The SPL clubs will have to stay in the league until 2003/2004 then they can leave and will most likely set up their very own league.

The Old Firm will then be without a league but there threats in the past of moving they will probably find a suitable league mainly the English 3rd division :D

The Old Firm are supposed to be disappointed at the 10 clubs wanting to leave but they have to do this if they want to survive.

Lex Gold has mentioned though that the Discussions will still continue for the voting to be changed until they are agreed.

The Old Firm will be worried they have hinted at a move to England but the FA ended the speculation by saying that the Old Firm will not be allowed to Join the English League.

We will keep you informed about this as much as possible.
