Byron Alvarez has his night as he scores a hat trick and makes two assist in the Timbers win over Edmonton. Byron was selected as the Timbers Army Man of the Match.

May 10th

The Edmonton Aviators came to town only to get grounded as the Timbers score six goals against a team known for their defence. The first goal came off a nice cross by Brian Winter to the feet of Byron Alvarez and as Edmontons defender tried to clear the ball out of danger but found his own net insted in the 27th minute. Byron chipped the ball to Hugo Alcarazwho scored in the 44th minute. Byron was not finnished as he put a perfect pass to Alan (Flash) Gordon who put the ball in the net. 3-0 Timbers at the Half.
More fireworks in the second half as Flash was replaced by Dan (Dizzy) Antoniuk (due to a sore ankle) but an amazing header into the net off a pass from Alex Bengard in the 60th minute. The rest of the match belonged to Byron as he beat his defenders twice for his 2nd and 3rd goals of the match! MotM Byron Alvarez!!!!
