Portland Timbers sign defender Brian Ritchie. Brian starts his second season for the Timbers and will be a solid force on the back line. Brian Ritchie will be a welcome addition to the back line of the Timbers defence this season. Ritchie was drafted by the Timbers last season and joined the team late as he was recovering from surgery. Brian made a big impact when he was placed in the Timbers line-up. Timbers coach Bobby Howe expects lots of good things from Ritchie this season as he will be at full form.
