The Timbers Army held another Gathering this time at the Lucky Lab. Coach Bobby Howe was our special guest giving us an update on thr try-out camp as well as player signings. March 11th Gathering at The Lucky Lab was attended by Coach Bobby Howe and our Army faith full. Coach Howe gave us news of Timber signing of Brian Ritchie and Keith Costigan but asked us to keep it under wraps until it was officially announced by the club.
Bobby told us the try-out camp was progressing nicely and that one or two players may make the team.The goal keeping position is still the main area the team is looking to fill as the retirement of Matt Napoleon has left a huge hole to fill. He praised our group for keeping together in the off season and pledged to put the best group of players on the field for the fans. Training camp opens for all players on April 1st. No word on some of the stars from last season as they are trying to hook up with a MLS team. Once those rosters are filled we should get final word if Tennyson and others will be back.
Paula brought some of her collection of Timber items of years past including a game program of when the Timbers played host to the dreaded Man U. It was great to go back in time to see the Timbers of the past.
