Sauber-Petronas is one of only three independent teams remaining in Formula One, (Jordan and Minardi are the others). Sauber entered F1 in 1993 and has steadily improved in recent years. They have been the top independent team in the Constructor's Championship for the last three years (2001-2003).
Sauber is a small but very efficient team run out of Hinwil, Switzerland. Their factory includes a 7-post rig, a state-of-the-art wind tunnel (becoming operational in February 2004), and an adjoining facility with their title sponsor known as Sauber-Petronas Engineering.
