Once again The Airdrie Internet team are on our travels south to take part in the Worldnet Football Tournament 64 teams of fans representing there club in the tournament to beat all tournaments. We will be playing over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of July and we are opening the invite out to any exiled Diamonds living South of the Border. So far we have recruited players from Manchester, Wakefield and Wales to join us in what always proves to be a fantastic weekend of Football, drinking, fun and games. A little bit about it, we will set off from Airdrie on the Friday Morning (15th July) usually at about 11 a.m arriving in Leeds Boddington Halls for 6ish. The Friday nights consist of singing your hearts out, we find it’s a fun way of introducing ourselves to the other teams. With the draw made weeks in advance of the competition, we already know who we are up against; the Saturday is a four team league format you play everyone once in your league for the Sunday split. The Saturday night is spent socialising in Leeds City Center. Sunday is the tricky one; after spending a night in Leeds until the early hours we all hope we have finished in one of the top two positions in our league, why? Well it means a long lie in 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. Finish in the bottom two and your up at 9:00. Yes 9:00 a.m. The Sunday is cup day and it is strictly knock out, played to final games. A great weekend and anyone who has joined us will testify to that. Only two rules we have to abide by- You must be an Airdrie fan and have to be over 18.
