Airdrie Supporters Trust announce new partnership.

Airdrieonians Supporters’ Trust have formed an innovative partnership with the club to support the next generation of diamonds.

 

From this season, the trust will invest £12,000 a year to help fund the club’s apprenticeship programme. In return, they will receive a percentage of any future transfer monies received for the apprentices.

Trust chair Willie Marshall said: “This is an exciting development that shows how confident we are in the club’s plans. We’ve donated significant sums over previous seasons, but this represents a major long-term investment, which will help to build and grow a sustainable club for generations to come.”

Any monies the trust receives from future transfers will be reinvested into the work the trust is doing with the club and community.

Willie continued: “It is an interesting time for Airdrieonians, to say the least. The ambition of the Chairman is infectious and we are glad that the trust is at the heart of making things happen.”

“It does mean we will need to redouble our fundraising efforts. Airdrie fans far and wide have backed us in recent seasons, buying merchandise and attending our events. We’ll need that to continue if this partnership is to be a success.”
