I arrived a few minutes late to yesterdays match andand even as I took my seat the Airdrie fans round about me had already turned on the team, Stranraer dominated the opening minutes and our that continued for the opening 45 minutes. In fact if Stranraer had a half decent striker we could have been on to a hiding. Yet the team didn't capitulate, we didn't make simple passes, we didn't have very many chances on goal and Stranraer must have had 10 + corners in the first half and still we didn't stop fighting and to be honest that was the story of the first half.  

At half time Mackin was replaced by Watt and the game turned on it's head, can one player make that much difference well in my opinion if I had to pick an Airdrie man of the match Liam Watt would have got it for his 45 mnutes worth of contribution.
Airdrie once again lost a goal in a packed box from a corner/set piece with no room to clear the ball it eventually fell to Stranraers McGuigan who tapped home to make it 1-0 to Stranraer on the 60 minute. Maybe a lesson was learnt from this as for every corner afterwards Bryan Prunty was left on the half way line, but that's not enough. We haven't lost many goals from headers at set pieces they have all come from the scramble in the box afterwards and the defence need space to see the ball and be able to clear it, once cleared we need someone to be able to pick up that cleared ball because if we don't we're under pressure once again.......Just my opinion!

Anyway Liam Watt scored Airdrie's equaliser on the 68th minute after Bryan Prunty flicked a header over the defensive pack that allowed Liam to race on to it, he slotted in to the net at the far post. A draw in my opinion was a fair result but if we have a display like we did in the first half against Ayr next week we could be in trouble.

It's all change at the top of the prediction league and this time i've not made a mistake as Wee Henry and Pesadilla share top spot on points with Wee Henry ahead on goal dfference.
