Prediction League Wk 24 Albion Rovers 1 Vs. 2 Airdrie result

Airdrie fans are given something to celebrate as the Diamonds beat Albion Rovers 2 - 1 away from home in the New Years Derby match. Airdrie came closest to opening the scoring when David Cox hit the cross bar from a free kick. Albion Rovers took the lead on when John Gemmel headed home on 27 minutes. Albion Rovers went on to dominate the first half.  

In the second half it took the substitutions of Morgan and Morton for Prunty and Lister plus switching to a 4-4-2 formation to change the game. Lister's presence in particular was causing problems in the Rovers defensive ranks and when Cadden put in a corner to the far post his presence forced Reid to head the ball in to his only net. That little bit of luck gave Airdrie a chance.
It took until three minutes before the end of the match for Lister to seal the points for the Diamonds when Cadden with another assist crossed for Lister to head home.

Prediction League 

As I never had time to have a look at the prediction league pre-match I didn't realise the switch as Airdrie fans predicted an Albion Rovers win, which means there is no change in the standing this week and the Man in Black maintains top spot.
