The Airdrie Trust are delighted to announce that they are holding a "Johnny Martin Day" on Sat 20th Sept before the home game vs Stranraer.This will also be a designated family day for the kids with face painting & other activities planned.

We are holding a presentation ceremony for the handover of Johnny's medal to The Stadium & The Trust who have commissioned a special display cabinet so we can all share it. 
This will be held in the Rowan Suite & the bar will open from 1pm. 
The Conn Family will also be in attendance to receive the cheque on behalf of the hospice which makes the occasion even more special.

Johnny has also agreed to take the Ice Bucket Challenge at half time on the pitch with at the families request all proceeds will again be for The Hospice. 
Of course the same bucket will be used for collecting donations before & after the game as well as at half time.

We are also proud to announce that both Johnny & Sammy's grandsons will be mascots for the day. I'm sure you will give Liam & Rhys the applause they deserve.

After consultation Johnny will NOT be appearing at the club shop at Starting Point in the town centre due to safety concerns.

However he will be at The Stadium from 1pm to sign autographs, meet the kids, offer photo opportunities with his medal (for a charitable donation) in advance of his presentation at 2.30.
Trust merchandise will be available at The Excelsior Stadium for purchase on the day.

It's Family Day so please come early as numbers will of course be limited on the day to in the Rowan Suite.

First come first served......

Finally Johnny has agreed to swing on the bar, show his arse & go in goal to allow both mascots, Iain Allison who donated the medal & two fans to take a penalty against him.
We are offering the chance for the first two fans to pledge £100 to not only have their "shot at glory" but to also jointly pour the bucket over the big mans head.

Also in advance of a FUTURE EVENT to be announced soon.......
We are collecting Airdrieonians memorabilia large & small to be sold to continue fundraising for The Hospice.
If you have anything you wish to donate (large or small) we will gratefully accept.
So dig out those old programmes maybe, strips, posters, scarves, WHATEVER you think is appropriate and be assured you will be playing your part in this fantastic effort in memory of Sammy Conn.
Either hand in to the Trust Shop at Starting Point, Bring along to the Stadium on Johnny Day or Willie Marshal to arrange collection.

Living oversea's I don't get much / any footage. Can someone going please video any parts of Johnny day, most specifically his entrance and the fans reaction and him swinging on the bar. Growing up watching Airdrie it was such a great thing to see. The good old 90's

I cannot believe I offered £100 for one of the "bucket holders" to be raffled among the young Aces and never even got a reply.

Sent to Chris Mac the day this post came up. The above is signed "The Stomp" but you can't PM the Stomp so I sent it to Chris. I have no record of doing it either as sent items don't automatically get kept it your sent items folder unless you click the wee button which I always forget to do until after the event.
Anyway still happy to pay today if we can get one of the youngsters on the pitch with Big Jonnie as a treat for them.
