After a very successful Airdrieonians prediction league we have decided to run one for the upcoming 2014 World Cup.
The Rules
1) To enter you must have paid £5.40 using the PayPal link below, I will not accept any other forms of payment. (If you give me £5.40 cash I will assume you owed me it and spend it on beer). Please note the additional 40p entry covers PayPals admin costs.
2) All payments must be made before Thursday 12th June 2014 9:00pm UK time, Kick Off of the first match between Brazil and Croatia.
3) If you do not make your prediction before the scheduled kickoff time on match day (UK Time), there is nothing I can do the times are fixed to match the schedules.
4) A list of competitors will be produced on the Thursday 12th June , if your name is not on that list then you have not paid your £5 and you will not be entitled to the prize. The prediction league cannot be locked to paid entrants only; so anyone can take part but only those who have paid the £5 before the above date will be in the main competition.
5) All matches will be over 90 minute regulation time, extra time and penalties will not count.
6) We are looking for enough entrants to cover the cost of the prize - an Adult Airdrieonians Season ticket - if there is a small short fall I will make it up personally however if we do not get enough entrants all monies will be returned to the competitors the week following the first match on Thursday 12th June 2014 .
7) Any entry money left over and above the £225 required will be used to buy additional Airdrieonians related prizes.
8a) If you enter this competion and win but usually sit in a reserved seat you will be responsible for making up the difference.
8b) If you are an OAP or Under 16 and therefor get a reduced price season ticket there will be no cash and season ticket offer the prize is for the adult season ticket only.
8c) If you normally get a discount on your season ticket because you take part in the clubs lottery, again there will be no cash and season ticket offer.

After a discussion today i've decided I need to come up with a way of seperating competitors just incase of a draw it's never happened in the years I've been running this. So can those above please supply me with who you think will win the World Cup?

31 still needed that's a lot of people. I will sign up so down to 30 but where are we going to find 30 more in two weeks ? Ask your mates and friends if they want to play even if it's just for good friendly banter in regards to who is ahead of who in the league
I always new it would be tough especially with the experience of trying to get it up and running last season, but I thought the draw of trying to win a season ticket for £5.40 would entice some extras.
As some others have stated in many previous threads many people think the Stomp has had it's day so maybe that's as much to do with it.

I am just playing for the fun- so not bothered about winning the season ticket so I want to proceed no matter if we have 5 or 50 entries. So I'm happy with whatever is decided to do with the money.

GOOD ONE, and thanks for getting behind the prediction league. Chris does everyone a huge favor by doing this so let's show him a little support and rally up a few more names or like Chris said with interest being lost we might not have a prediction league to play. (Well he didn't say that but he did say interest being lost in the stomp )
Surely we can find a few more interested parties even if it's mates at work and hey new members to the site would be a good thing to revive the topics etc

I'd have paid it if I didn't need to create a PayPal account. No idea how to do that and no inclination to find out.
Don't need a Paypal account there is an option for paying via debit card once you get to the check out stage.

Still looking for a few more to enter the prediction league anyone still on the fence or any suggestions on how we can generate a little more interest in the League ????? Chris Mac does a great service to everyone by providing this for us but we all need to help out if we want to continue having this in the future. So let's try and make a push to get at least another ten signed up by the end of next week.

I’m don’t think we are going to get enough entrants to justify a full season ticket, so what I am suggestion is, we use the current money as a deposit for a season ticket and the winner will then have to choose if they want the half season ticket or contribute the rest of the money towards a full ticket.
If that’s agreeable I will continue to push for more entrants and the money raised between now and the start of the world cup will go towards a second placed prize of a home or away top. Please let me know your thoughts?
If we are lucky enough to get enough numbers to get a full ticket we can revisit it?

As an update i've had confirmation from the club that a half season ticket should we go down that route will be a ten match ticket (voucher) that can be used any time over the season. That will obviously be down to the winner to discuss with the club.
Another entrant - IF carat diamond Junior is up and running with the prediction league - paid by Paypal.

Only think i can think of, did you press predict at the bottom of the screen, no other reason it would change.
Just to confirm the prizes -
we have 32 entrants so that's £160
£135 for a half season ticket (or contribution to a full season ticket)
I will add £5 to the total and 2nd prize get's a £30 voucher (you will have the choice whether to put the voucher to a season ticket or strip via the club or for the Supporters Trust and the stock they are selling).

I have now placed the predictions for the quarter finals and semi finals in to the prediction league, obviously I don't know who they are yet but the listing gives some indication of whose playing where.
