After supporting the clubs aims to bring Jamie Stevenson to the club Airdrie supporters trust are thinking of setting up a fund specifically for this purpose.
At the moment the Trust are looking for fans to register their interest in such an idea and details can be found on the Trust website at the link below.

A PDF of the form, on the Trust website, will be online tonight for download and printing.
In the same vein, the Trust are thinking of re-introducing an idea Andy Waite had a few years ago where fans sponsor an event on the pitch, for instance every clean sheet someone pays £1.
This would be an online system using Paypal.

Similar system to what's happening at Clyde just now?

why dont the trust get money together to buy shares

If I were a Trust member I'd be a bit cheesed of at some of the reaction to what seems to me to be an excellent idea. For ages we have had some people criticising the Trust for not doing things about the product on the park then when they come up with an idea which deserves support in this direction there is a lukewarm response.

Quote:It would depend if they were new shares or existng onse sold by the board. If you don't get 51% you're not going to be in control, less than that might get you're opinion heard but you won't win any arguments.Diamond LadQuote:Sergeant WilsonQuote:Because shares are worthless. how much would need to be raised for an impact?

I think its great that the Trust can help to fund purchase of a new player.
My betting is that funds might be needed soon to buy out the Manager's contract.( Much as though I appreciate the good work he has done for the youth setup)

In the past the Trust have been criticised for having no clear direction. The Player's Fund is something we have been thinking about for a while and hopefully it will be something fans approve of. The idea behind it is that we have a seperate account which is the Player's Fund - people can contribute to this in a number of ways, there is the standing order way, the goal pledge etc way and possibly events for the player fund which are seperate from the trust ones - i.e. Aces and POTY. You don't need to be a member of the Trust to join the Players Fund and vice versa. Yes, we will be donating the money to the club and it will be be up to Jimmy Boyle and the Ballantynes who they wish to use this money for - perhaps there will be times when not all of us will like the signings - that is just a risk we will need to take. If you don't want to contribute, don't, if you do contact the Trust.
