Aidrie travel to East Fife (East Fife Vs Airdrie)

It was about the same time last season that I “fell in love” with Airdrie again, East Fife away is not exactly the field of dreams, the chimney has gone so there’s no dramatic sky line and to be honest a 3 – 3 draw wouldn’t normally get me that excited. However the way the team attacked and just wouldn’t lie down was what impressed me, their attack was raw but inspiring and it’s the first time I saw light at the end of a very dark tunnel!

The question is, will Saturday’s game live up to that?

A basic rule “never change a winning team” well fortunately Jimmy will not have to make changes from the team that beat Dumbarton on Saturday. Ally Woodburn has been ruled out again due to a thigh strain and may require a scan. Sean Lynch and Graeme Goodall are still on the injury list but It’s hoped Sean will return to training next week.

Last week the prediction league was a massive vote of confidence from the fans with regards how the match would play out against Dumbarton 71% said it would be a home win, this week it seems Airdrie fans think we’re in for a tougher shift?

Prediction Stats East Fife v Airdrie
Home Win: Percentage 16%
Away Win: Percentage 46%
Draw: Percentage 37%

Less than 50% think we can turn in the same sort of performance away from home and with ex-Airdrie players Ryan Wallace and Mark Ridgers playing for Saturday’s opponents it should make things interesting.

Travelling to work this morning I was also a little concerned about the weather and contacted East Fife to make sure it was worth while making arrangements to travel, it seems Fife have not had any rain for a day and a half and the drainage at the park is excellent. So unless things get worse it should be game on.

For those who may have missed it or haven't chacked the SFl are showing the highlights of Saturdays match Vs Dumbarton. Click Here it's about 12 minutes in and only shows the three goals.
