January 14 2009

We already have a couple of things to celebrate this season, beating Hearts and lifting the Alba Challenge Cup, hopefully by the 3rd of May 2009 we will be celebrating again, survival in the Irn Bru First Division.

Airdrie Supporters Trust are happy to announce our annual player of the year event. It will once again be held during the first bank holiday in May in Airdrie Town Hall. Prices are to remain the same £30 per ticket Tables and tickets can be reserved by paying a £10 deposit.

We are also looking for suggestions for induction in to the hall of fame and suggestions for who you would like to see voted as the fan of the year. Please put all suggestions in writing via e-mail to myself or in to the Trust hatch on the main concourse of the stadium, reasons why you think they deserve it would also be appreciated.

Closer to the event we will produce voting forms for the player of the year and young player of the year.

So....

Player of the Year
3rd of May 2009
Airdrie Town Hall
£30 per ticket
£10 deposit to reserve seat
Tables of 10 can be booked.

More details to follow when they become available.

Alan Gow For the hall of fame, after all he did score the goal that got us promoted.

totally disagree with ALan Gow, but with Stephen McKeown in there, it has lost all it's value already

Why not hold this at the stadium and keep the money in house?

Because we would lose money from it. We make more from the ticket money per head if we use outside caterers, it's the same reason it was moved from the Tudor. Everything we've had at the stadium costs us more than even hiring else where.

Surely though something could be arranged where you pay the same or bring in the outside caterers? Especially with new managemnt co. who actually look like they are doing things with the stadium. Just seems strange to have the hall in the stadium locked up and 100+ fans down at the town hall!
