Let me introduce you.......

To next seasons 2008 - 2009's Irn Bru first division, a division many Airdrie fans feel is home and where we belong. Now it's time for a holiday for some then it's time for the hard work to begin. Will we survive in the first division? Who knows but i'm relishing the opportunity.

Scottish Irn Bru Second Division.

Airdrie
Clyde
Dumfermline
Dundee
Livingston
Morton
Partick Thistle
Queen of the South
Ross County
St Johnstone

Nearly a fantastic league, if only we could get Motherwell relegated and maybe throw in a Hibs!

We also have to remember that Gretna's situation not only benefitted us but helped Stranraer as well, we're obviously the main talking point because we seem to be very much linked with the fortunes of Gretna.

Jim Ballantyne and his thoughts on the promotion situation can be heard on the BBC Website.

Surely a fantastic league deserves some sort of television coverage?

no matter who is in the league the standard will not be any better than 2 years ago and it was@#$%&then.where airdrie will get the money from to strengthen the side is anyone,s guess and it will be a major surprise if we arent fighting in the bottom 2 or 3 most of the year.i expect a lot of tough, dour, physical struggles.hopefully it won,t be but we have to be realistic as we have a manager who thinks safety first

I will put money on us being in the top 3, really fancy us to do well. If we get 1 or 2 phsical players and a couple of good wide men then we could surprise the whole league. I do really think Kennys football Philosophy is the right 1 for us to succeed and I'm pretty sure he will get some of those players he has targeted in the past that were maybe out of our budget but are now maybe within our reach now that we're in Div 1. Maybe I'm still delirious!!!!

Now, now, Dougie, cool your jets, Mate!

I know I'm the one who started the "POSITIVITY, NOT NEGATIVITY" call, but even that is above and beyond!! Let's aim for mid-table and build on that. That remains a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude!!)

tell me what is there to be optimistic about?our team wasn,t good enough to get promoted from div 2 and i dont think we have the cash to strengthen the team considerably which is probably needed.when was the last time division one was exciting to watch?

So where would you rather be, back in the second division playing Raith, Ayr, Alloa, Brechin.....

Or up against some teams we have some real rivalries with?

Attendances at games of 200, 300, 400, 500 or average atendances of 1500 - 2000.

If people screw the nut and put the team first, be supporters first before anything else this could be a great season.

Come on....

i would like to go to a game and watch attacking, entertaining football and actually enjoy a game rather than waste £15 and watch rubbish which has been the case the last 2 years and not just airdrie as all the clubs are as bad as each other.the chances are that the new season will be like the last 2 and if people are happy to watch that then fair play.until airdrie and football on the whole becomes more entertaining then i wont be watching many games and i have supported airdrie for nearly 20 years

whether we do or don't is out of our hands. Its up to the money men to prove they want to stay up... the useful players are signing up now, McManus, etc... we'll see the intentions of our board now. Do we sign the better players and make our intentions of staying up clear, or do we wait until the week before the season starts and sign what can't be shifted from the Agents books? I think we all know what the answer will be until we get some new blood on the board.

£15 to watch a mind numbing 4-5-1 looks to be the case next year if KB is still in charge

If he does decide to play 4-5-1, it'll save them a fortune on strikers. Only need two for a rotation, and some schoolboy for a backup. Very few goal bonuses to hand out, as well, before we sink back into Second Division mediocrity...
