Leigh RMI chairman Bill Taylor has announced that former Oxford United assistant manager Steve Bleasdale is the next person to enter the RMI hot seat following Geoff Lutley's resignation earlier this week. Lutley resigned from his position as manager earlier this week after just three months in charge at Hilton Park, citing increasing work commitments for his decision, although the fact that he only managed to gain one point during his reign may certainly play a part.

Bleasdale has previous experience as number two to Mark Wright not only at Oxford, but also alongside the former England defender at both Chester City and Southport.

The appointment seems on first impression to be a lot more ambitious than the originaly appointment of Lutley, who's previous experience included the youth team at Bury, and bizarrely, the Bradford City Ladies team, with Bleasdale having a much more impressive CV, with plans for the future of RMI to match.

Everyone at Unofficial RMI Online wishes Geoff Lutley the very best of luck in whatever he chooses to do next, whilst hoping that Bleasdale can help turn the club around, although relegation to Conference North is almost inevitable as each week passes by, with just one win all season.
