Leigh RMI defender John Robertson has moved to Lancaster City. Robertson who had only a short spell at RMI, has been let go by Mark Patterson to make room and funds for new players.

Robertson who signed for Leigh from Southport mid-way through the 2001/02 season, has left the Railwaymen after a quite short spell. The former Southport and Northwich man joined up with non-league outfit Lancaster City today.

In other news, RMI have offered trials to many players. Most recognised is former Manchester United defender Michael Clegg. Clegg played the friendly against Bury last night and very much impressed. Hopefully a contract can be agreed for Clegg and RMI will have a very talented player for their Conference campaign.
