Ex RMI star gains international recognition

Former RMI star Steve Jones has continued his incredible season by being announced in the Northern Ireland squad to face Finland in a friendly on Tuesday.

Jones has been in superb form for Crewe Alexandra in his first full season in the Second Division following his move partway through the 2001/2002 season in a £130,000 deal. Jones has scored 6 goals in his last 7 games for the Railwaymen as they steam towards a return to the First Division at the first attempt. His goal against Notts County last Tuesday was his 12th goal of the season for Crewe.

Jones featured in a Northern Ireland XI against Macclesfield Town last season but has now gained full recognition.
