One out, two in for Genesis

Leigh Genesis boss Mark Maddox has made some changes to his Leigh Genesis squad, with two new signings joining the club and one summer signing departing for pastures new.

Twenty two year old Mark King (pictured) joined Genesis in late July having spent last season with Marine and featured heavily during the pre-season programme before making four competitive appearances for the club, one of which as a substitute, at both left back and in central midfield.

However, Maddox has decided to release King to allow him to find another club.

King's departure is offset by two new arrivals who have now signed for Leigh having been training with the squad recently.

One familiar face who is joining the club is twenty eight year old defender Steve Brockley, who returns to his hometown club more than two years since leaving for Skelmersdale United, before later appearing for Radcliffe Borough.

Brockley appeared for Genesis during pre-season and has recently been training with Leigh, having previously played for the club between 2005 and 2008, playing as a left back and centre back in the Conference North alongside his new manager Maddox and player/coach Andy Heald.

Also joining the club is thirty year old midfielder James Olsen, who joins Leigh from Evo-Stik Premier League side Colwyn Bay. Olsen began his career with Tranmere Rovers, spending four years at Prenton Park before making further Football League appearances with Macclesfield Town.

Olsen enjoyed two spells with Vauxhall Motors before later making Conference North appearances for Barrow and Conference National appearances for Southport and Altrincham, later returning to the Conference North with Stalybridge Celtic and Burscough before winning promotion to the Evo-Stik Premier League via the play-offs with Colwyn Bay last season, having previously captained the Welsh side.

The club would like to pass on it's best wishes to King, whilst also welcoming Brockley and Olsen to Crilly Park.

yeh we knew that mate lol he said on saturday hes not played for 18 months so could be a few weeks yet till we see him put the shirt on but i say play him now lol

good luck to kingy aswell to finding a new club.

He hadn't actually signed or been registered yet though - give him a few weeks and I fancy he might be ready for the Colls game?

Would think Olsen will be pushing a place earlier on, depending on whether he's had a full pre season etc.
