MARK KING

Twenty two year midfielder Mark King joined Leigh Genesis on 22nd July 2010 after spending the 2009/2010 in the Evo-Stik Premier League with Marine.

King began his career as a professional with Blackburn Rovers but, despite being a regular in their reserve side, didn't make a senior appearance after suffering two serious injuries during his time at Ewood Park. After leaving Blackburn, King joined Accrington Stanley and made several first team appearances before later appearing for Northwich Victoria.

Made his Leigh debut as a substitute in the 2-1 home defeat to Curzon Ashton at Crilly Park on Saturday 21st August 2010, the opening day of the 2010/2011 Evo-Stik League Division One North season.

King made his full Leigh Genesis debut in the 3-0 away defeat to Wakefield at College Grove on Tuesday 24th August 2010.

Despite only making four competitive appearances from Leigh, King was released from the club on 8th September 2010, joining Blue Square North side Vauxhall Motors a month later.
