FA draw news

Leigh Genesis' pre-season campaign might only begin on Tuesday evening with a friendly at Chadderton, but the road to Wembley is already being planned out with the draws being made for the early rounds of the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

Mark Maddox's side join the FA Cup at the Preliminary Round stage, with Crilly Park hosting a home fixture against either Runcorn Linnets or Maine Road, both Vodkat North West Counties League sides, on Saturday 28th August.

Should Leigh win this tie, they will have an away fixture away to either Rossendale United, Cammell Laird or Maddox's former side, Formby, in the First Qualifying Round on Saturday 11th September.

In the FA Trophy, Genesis have again been drawn at home, this time coming up against league rivals Garforth Town at Crilly Park on Saturday 2nd October.

If Garforth leave Crilly Park with a defeat, then Leigh will travel to fellow Evo-Stik League Division One North outfit Radcliffe Borough in the First Qualifying Round on Saturday 16th October.

Hoping for the linnets to come to crilly as i believe they bring good away support.
Would love a good run in the cups this year.

I'd have thought you'd be wanting to play City's B team, Walshy?! Runcorn have got an above average support but doubt they'd exactly bring hundreds, though I think we did get 800 on against them in the cup one year?!
