Leigh Genesis starlet Dale Whitham will be displaying his skills to the nation this evening as he celebrates St. George's Day by representing England Schools Under 18's against their counterparts from Scotland in the Centenary Shield.

A win for England will give them a strong chance of retaining the Centenary Shield, with the game from Carlisle United's Brunton Park being screened live on Sky Sports from 7.40pm this evening.

Won't get chance to watch it, so if somebody does please feel free to give us a report of how he does!

Should England win, we'll all have a chance to congratulate him tomorrow as I believe he is hoping to play a part in tomorrow's game and attend the presentation.

Watched the 1st half, Dale was fairly quiet mainly due to his teammates being incapable of playing simple passes. England were 1-0 down at h/t when Dale was subbed, so I didnt watch 2nd half but England now winning 4-1.

Thought 1st half was poor quality from England, I expected better tbh. No reflection on Dale he was playing just off the main striker, who couldnt control the ball, and they didnt try to play through midfield so he never got any decent service

Given how good a passing game Dale has, I think that's quite disappointing that they appeared to bypass him a bit. From a selfish point of view, being subbed means he should be that little bit more fresh for us tomorrow.

Totally agree Matt, I think the position he played didnt suit him, having said that the quality of the game was way below Unibond standards.

Like I said I didnt watch the 2nd half after he was subbed but it would be harsh to say he was at fault in any way.

By the way did you get the EMail re the World cup comp? If not I will send again

Yeah I've got it Paul, will have a look at it at some point this weekend and forward it to Walshy as well.
