Romanian utility player who joined Leigh in October 2009, making his debut as a substitute in a 4-0 defeat to Mossley in a UniBond League Challenge Cup tie on 27th October 2009.

His full debut came in a 3-0 Lancashire FA Trophy win away to Ashton Athletic on 10th November 2009.

Morariu had to wait until 6th February 2010 to make his full league debut, starting in a 2-0 defeat to Chorley at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium following the departure to Lancaster City of Jonathan Smith.

By the time he had only made half a dozen appearances for Leigh, Morariu had already found himself appearing in the centre of defence, central midfield and even as a striker.

Youngster Morariu is a former pupil of the successful Gheorge Popescu Football Academy in his native Romania.
